The world of fashion witnessed a stunning showcase of creativity and innovation as NIF Global Bhubaneswar took centre stage at Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI 2025, held on 9th October 2025. In collaboration with the FDCI, NIF Global proudly presented GENNEXT and THE RUNWAY, two events celebrating young talent, cultural narratives and design excellence.

This year’s participation marked a milestone moment for NIF Global Bhubaneswar. Both GENNEXT and THE RUNWAY expressed the institute’s philosophy “From Classrooms to Couture”. It was not just a display; it was an assertion that the future of fashion is being shaped by new voices unafraid to blend tradition, sustainability, and self-expression.
As one of the leading Fashion design institutes in Odisha, NIF Global continues to bridge education and industry, preparing students for global exposure through events like Lakmé Fashion Week.

● GENNEXT at 12:00 noon, featuring young designers with innovative concepts.
● The Runway, at 1:00 PM., featuring collections inspired by the theme “Personal, Cultural & Community Heirlooms.”

At the heart of THE RUNWAY lay a story that transcended trends.. The theme, “Personal, Cultural, and Community Heirlooms,” challenged designers to revisit their roots for inspiration and explore traditions, memories, and materials that showcases identity and belonging.
This design approach was in line with the NIF Global values of sustainable and meaningful design education. Each ensemble represented a dialogue between the past and the present, blending tradition with a modern perspective and reimagining the past in a creative way that infuses heart with style.
The collections showed audiences that fashion is not just what we wear, but also what we pass down, hold on to, and reinvent over time.

The GENNEXT showcase featured three promising talents from NIF Global Bhubaneswar: Pranita Choudhury, Mohammed Anas Sheikh and Anam Husain. Their collections all reflected a shared fperspective on innovation, sustainability, and cultural relevance.
Drawing on a variety of inspirations, they demonstrated how young designers can combine creativity and responsibility. The presentation demonstrated NIF Global’s ability to guide students from design to the real world, equipping them to meet the dynamic needs of the current fashion industry.
This is what distinguishes NIF Global as not just a Fashion design college, but a creative hub where talent is nurtured, mentored, and showcased on international stages.

This year, the partnership between the fashion and interior design departments at NIF Global created a unique experience for participants. Students from the Interior Design department developed and designed the sets and installations for GENNEXT and THE RUNWAY.

These beautiful stages and immersive installations created a storytelling experience on stage that fully exemplified how classroom education can be translated into practical, communal experiences. This multidisciplinary approach demonstrates that design education at NIF Global encompasses more than just theoretical design principles; it enhances real-world experiences, fostering hands-on innovation.
The installations were designed to complement the fashion story. Whether through lighting design or spatial beauty, the runway was brought to life as a canvas of creativity.

NIF Global Bhubaneswar’s presence at Lakme Fashion Week was a source of pride, furthering the institute’s mission of empowering emerging designers to make relevant design.
Through initiatives like GENNEXT and THE RUNWAY, the institute encourages students to think sustainably, to create genuine stories through the lens of fashion and interior design.
As the finale ended with applause, the audience recognized not only the great designs, but the message they communicate; the new generation of Indian designers are ready to lead with heart, heritage and innovation.
